Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Project Development and Finance Practice with the addition of George Kazakov as a partner in London.

"White & Case has a strong Global Project Development and Finance Practice, with an international footprint that offers clients top-class, on-the-ground legal advice in the main EMEA, Asia-Pacific and Americas jurisdictions where our clients are seeking to invest in infrastructure and energy assets," said White & Case partner Mark Castillo-Bernaus, Head of the Global Project Development and Finance Practice. "The addition of George, who has both in-house and private practice experience across these regions, adds further bench strength and support to the Practice as we look to meet demand from the highly active infrastructure M&A and private equity market in EMEA and globally."

Kazakov has extensive experience advising on a wide range of private equity M&A and finance transactions across the globe, with a particular focus on the infrastructure sector. He also has experience with fund formation and governance processes, co-investment arrangements and managing portfolio company matters. Kazakov joins White & Case from Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, where he was Global Investment Counsel.

"George has a depth of experience and knowledge from his time at Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners that will further elevate our infrastructure M&A and finance offering," said White & Case partner Caroline Miller Smith, Regional Section Head, EMEA EIPAF. "In particular, his international outlook and understanding of infrastructure investments and transaction management from the investor's point of view will be of significant strategic value to our clients."

Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case's global Executive Committee, said: "The arrival of George is the latest in a string of high calibre infrastructure M&A and finance partner additions in London, most recently Katie Hicks and Tim Sheddick and prior to that Sandra Rafferty and Simon Caridia. This ongoing expansion of the practice shows that we are investing in a broad, deep and integrated infrastructure M&A and finance offering in London for the long haul."
