White & Case adds leading team of life sciences IP litigators

Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Intellectual Property Practice and Global Life Sciences and Healthcare Industry Group with the addition of four leading life sciences trial litigators. The team comprises partners Elizabeth Holland, Nicholas Mitrokostas, William James and Daniel Margolis. Holland joins as Head of the Firm's Global Life Sciences IP Litigation Practice and Mitrokostas joins as Co-Head of the Global Life Sciences and Healthcare Industry Group. The group will operate from their current locations in New York, Washington, DC and Boston.

About Elizabeth Holland
Holland is a market-leading first-chair trial lawyer who represents innovator life sciences companies in their most significant and complex litigations. She has extensive experience serving as lead trial counsel for pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies in patent infringement litigations, licensing disputes, arbitrations, IPR proceedings and Federal Circuit appeals, with particular expertise in Hatch-Waxman and BPCIA litigation. She was the Co-Head of Global IP Litigation at her prior firm.

About Nicholas Mitrokostas
Mitrokostas is a first-chair life sciences trial lawyer who represents companies in high-stakes patent, trade secret and licensing disputes, including in the biologics and small molecule space. He has served as lead counsel in patent disputes before federal courts, the PTAB, ITC and in arbitrations. He brings particular expertise representing emerging to multinational companies in late-stage drug development issues relating to patent and regulatory exclusivities. He was the Boston Managing Partner at his prior firm.

William James is an experienced first-chair trial litigator who represents innovator companies in Hatch-Waxman, biologics and medical device litigations. He has served as lead counsel in biotechnology, small molecule and medical device matters before district courts, the Federal Circuit, the PTAB, in arbitrations and at the ITC.

About Daniel Margolis
Daniel Margolis is an experienced life sciences trial litigator specializing in pharmaceutical, biologic, biotechnology and chemical patent cases. He has successfully represented plaintiffs and defendants in federal courts, before the PTAB and the ITC.
