Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Polish company Advanced Protection Systems S.A. (APS) on contracts for its delivery of key components for Poland’s SAN anti-drone shield (Project SAN), Europe’s largest anti-drone system.

The total value of Project SAN is around PLN 15 billion (approximately US$4.2 billion).

The contracts for the delivery of battery modules for anti-drone systems capable of combating unmanned aerial systems (UAS) – the supply agreement between the Polish Armaments Agency and the consortium of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and subcontracting agreement between PGZ and APS – were signed on January 30, 2026.

The delivery includes 18 air-defence battery modules with counter-UAS capabilities. A single battery module will consist of three fire platoons and a support platoon. Each fire platoon will have full capabilities to independently detect, track, identify and neutralize air targets. The agreement will be financed from funds obtained under a SAFE instrument.

The White & Case team in Warsaw that advised on the transaction included partner Maciej Zalewski, local partner Monika Dużyńska and associate Dawid Książek.
