Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised the banks on the inaugural €700 million bond issue by Canal+, one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies.
Following the admission to trading of Canal+ shares on the main market of the London Stock Exchange in December 2024, on which White & Case also advised the banks, it is the company's first bond issue. The bonds have been admitted to trading on the Euro MTF market of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
The €700 million issue has a coupon of 4.625% and matures in 2030 and the proceeds will be used to refinance part of the credit facility contracted by Canal+ to secure the acquisition of MultiChoice's group, one of Africa's leading pay-TV operators, following a mandatory takeover bid.
The White & Case team in Paris which advised on the transaction was led by partners Tatiana Uskova and Thomas Le Vert and included associate Alice Guillon.
