Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised global investment firm Carlyle on the sale of a two percent stake in Prima Assicurazioni S.p.A. (Prima Assicurazioni), an Italian leader in direct insurance distribution, held through its investment vehicle Primetech.
The transaction is part of a broader agreement under which AXA has signed for the acquisition of a 51 percent interest in Prima Assicurazioni, with call and put options granted over the remaining 49 percent. Completion of the transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
The White & Case team which advised Carlyle on corporate and contractual issues was led by partners Giovanni Spedicato (Milan), Leonardo Graffi (Milan and London) and Michael Immordino (London and Milan), and included associate Valerio Bianchi (Milan).
