Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised China Chunlai Education Group Co., Ltd. (China Chunlai Education) on its proposed US$127.5 million acquisition of Accountancy & Business College (Ireland) Limited (trading as Dublin Business School in Ireland) from Kaplan International UK Holdings Limited (Kaplan).

The transaction involves the acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Dublin Business School, together with the assignment of trademarks relating to the "Dublin Business School" and "DBS" brands in Ireland, the United Kingdom and the European Union.

Hong Kong-listed China Chunlai Education is one of the leading providers of private higher education in China. The acquisition of a higher education institution of this scale and profile is one of few transactions undertaken by a China-based private education company, and represents a significant milestone in China Chunlai Education's international growth strategy as it enters the Irish higher education market.

Dublin Business School has been part of global education company Kaplan for over 20 years. It is one of Ireland's largest independent third-level colleges and an Irish registered higher education institution accredited by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), serving over 9,000 students annually across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partner Ryan Tou (Hong Kong) and included associates Hilda Leung (Hong Kong) and Rosie Wang (Shanghai).
