White & Case advises CIP on acquisition and financing of Gawara Baya hybrid project in Australia

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), on behalf of its fund Copenhagen Infrastructure V (CI V), on the acquisition of a 100% interest in, and project financing of, the Gawara Baya Hybrid Project, comprising a 408 MW onshore wind farm and 104 MW BESS located south-west of Ingham in North Queensland.

"The acquisition and the achievement of financial close on the Gawara Baya hybrid project represents a material investment for CIP in the Australian market and a significant and important progression towards Australia's national renewable energy and dispatchable storage targets," said White & Case partner Brendan Quinn.

The project financing was supported by a consortium of 10 international and domestic banks.
