White & Case advises lenders on term loan financing for Ruta del Este Sociedad Concesionaria S.A.

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised J.P. Morgan and Natixis, as joint lenders, on a term loan financing for Ruta del Este Sociedad Concesionaria S.A.

This is Panama's first public-private partnership adjudicated by the Ministerio de Obras Públicas de Panama under the new Ley de Asociaciones Público-Privadas of Panama.

The proceeds of the loans will be used for the rehabilitation, operation and maintenance of the Panamericana Este project, a 246-kilometer road located in southeast Panama connecting Panama City and the municipality of Yaviza, located in the Darién province.

The White & Case team in New York was led by Project Development and Finance partner Thomas Pate and Capital Markets partner Ian Cuillerier, and included Project Development and Finance associate Francisco Lascurain; and Capital Markets associates Zhou Bo (Joseph) Chen and Natasha Dusaj. Latin America fellow Eduardo Damian also advised on the matter.
