Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Talen Energy Corp. on its US$3.45 billion acquisitions of the Waterford Energy Center and Darby Generating Station in Ohio, and the Lawrenceburg Power Plant in Indiana from Energy Capital Partners.
The acquisitions will add approximately 2.6 gigawatts of natural gas generation capacity to Talen's portfolio, substantially expand Talen's presence in the western PJM market and add additional efficient baseload generation assets to its fleet.
White & Case previously advised Talen on its US$3.8 billion acquisitions of Caithness Energy's Moxie Freedom Energy Center in Pennsylvania, and Caithness Energy and BlackRock's Guernsey Power Station in Ohio, both combined-cycle gas-fired plants located within the PJM power market.
The White & Case team in New York was led by partners Andrew Weisberg and Gary Kashar, and included Capital Markets associates Brian Munsie and Ryan Sharpstene.
