Biography

Noah Carr is partner in our Corporate/M&A practice group, based in Tokyo. He works across a range of public and private acquisitions, carve-outs, joint ventures, strategic alliance and growth equity matters for Japanese and international strategic and financial investors.

Noah is active in strategic planning and noted for his ability to bridge technical and cultural differences in Japanese and international dealings processes. He is qualified in New York, and has been based in Tokyo for more than 15 years.

Experience

Hitachi, in its multi-billion dollar air conditioning joint venture restructuring with Bosch and Johnson Controls, including Hitachi's US$1.4 billion carve-out sale and parallel acquisition of Japanese production and R&D assets. Winner, "M&A Deal of the Year (Premium)", ALB Japan Law Awards 2025*

The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. on its acquisition of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company’s off-the-road (OTR) tire business for US$905 million in cash.*

Toray Industries on its sale of interests in LG Toray Hungary Battery Separator Kft., a 50/50 battery separator film joint venture in Hungary, to its joint venture partner LG Chem.*

A sovereign investor in the consortium take-private acquisition of the TSE-listed software company.*
