Overview

Saul Daniel is Co-Head of the Asia-Pacific Energy Group of White & Case. His practice involves the representation of clients in a wide range of complex transactions across the energy industry including project development, joint ventures and project finance.

He has extensive experience in the upstream, downstream and LNG sectors in particular. Saul has worked on major energy transactions throughout the Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

Saul has worked in the Houston, London and Abu Dhabi offices of White & Case.

Experience

Advising Saudi Aramco on the proposed US$14 billion development and financing of the Liaoning Refining and Petrochemical Complex in China.

Advising a confidential investor in connection with its potential investment in an LNG-to-Power project in Vietnam.

Advising Saudi Aramco in connection with its proposed acquisition of an interest in Zhejiang Integrated Refining and Petrochemical Complex.

Advising the project company established by United Chemicals Company and Borealis Chemicals on the proposed development and financing of an US$8 billion petrochemicals facility in Kazakhstan.

Advising an international trading company on its standard form LNG master sales agreements.

Advising Noble Energy on its LNG sale and purchase arrangements from the Alen Gas Project in Equatorial Guinea.

Advising Noble Energy on the implementation of the Alen gas monetization project in Equatorial Guinea including upstream development, access to natural gas processing and liquefaction services and LNG sales.

Advising Orca Exploration in connection with all its upstream and midstream arrangements relating to the Songo Songo gas field in Tanzania including the production sharing agreement with the Ministry of Oil and Gas, gas processing, transportation and sales, drilling obligations and rig contracts.

Advising Pan American Energy on the first ever combined transfer of a Mexican oil block approved by CNH and the transfer of an interest in an Exploration and Extraction Contract.

Advising Saudi Aramco on its supply and offtake arrangements in connection with its investment in Hyundai Heavy Industries refinery in Korea.

Advising Saudi Aramco on its proposed joint venture with Pertamina and US$6 billion investment in the Cilacap refinery and petrochemical facility in Indonesia.

Advising the lenders in connection with the financing and the proposed restructuring of a US$3.6 billion gas-to-liquids (GTL) project in Uzbekistan.

Advising the lenders in connection with the US$1 billion financing of a PTA plant in Oman.

Advising Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries in connection with the US$2 billion development and financing for a PDH/polypropylene project in Kazakhstan.

Advising Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) and Total E&P Nigeria Limited (TEPNG) as sponsors, on a US$1 billion financing for development activities in 30 oil fields across 12 OMLs under the NNPC’s oil debt programme.

Advising Saudi Aramco in connection with all aspects of its joint venture with a speciality chemicals company relating to the development and financing of a hydrogen peroxide plant in Saudi Arabia.

Advising Saudi Aramco in connection with the US$20 billion Sadara petrochemical project, a joint venture with The Dow Chemical Company in Saudi Arabia.

Advising North American Polypropylene and Goradia Capital on the development and financing of a US$1 billion polypropylene facility in North America.
