Joshua Berman Joins White & Case as a Partner

Global law firm White & Case LLP announced today that Joshua Berman will join its Global Commercial Litigation Practice as a partner in its New York office.

Berman focuses on complex commercial litigation and intellectual property disputes. He has handled matters arising out of broken deals, licensing arrangements and shareholder actions for both public and private companies. Recently, Berman has successfully defended Fortune 500 companies against a broad array of trade secret, unfair competition, patent and trademark infringement, and related claims.

"Josh's addition enhances our Practice's capabilities in one of the world's key financial centers, where our clients rely on us for the great work we do–complex, cross-border disputes," says White & Case partner Glenn Kurtz, who heads the Firm's Global Commercial Litigation Practice. "The Firm is committed to hiring the best and brightest, as we continue to expand our Practice and our presence in New York."

Berman, formerly with Troutman Sanders, has successfully represented a wide variety of businesses from technology startups to large, public, as well as private equity firms, investment banks and other financial institutions.

"Corporations continue to face a very litigious environment, as their competitors and shareholders are questioning their business strategies and activities," says Scott Hershman, White & Case's Regional Section Head, Americas Disputes. "Josh's experience navigating contentious situations will give us further depth and ability to represent clients in high-stakes, complex litigation."

Berman is the latest addition to White & Case's Global Commercial Litigation Practice, following the hiring last year of partners Steven Chabinsky, Mark Clarke and Dennis Orr.

The lawyers in White & Case's Global Commercial Litigation Practice defend the interests of clients in all types of trial, appellate, regulatory and alternative dispute resolution tribunals around the world. They advise financial institutions, large corporations, sovereign governments, executives and directors through their most significant litigation challenges.
