
White & Case partner Dennis Heuer spoke with Börsen-Zeitung (German Financial Times) chief editor Detlef Fechtner regarding the European Commission's proposal to revamp the EU's securitisation framework that aims to simplify regulations and boost market activity. He welcomed the legislative proposals for strengthening of the securitisation market however also emphasized that the proposal misses the mark on effectively establishing a bridge between credit and the capital markets through securitisation. Such a bridge is crucial for the EU's bank-based system to channel more financial resources into the economy.
