White & Case partners Arlene Arin Hahn, F. Paul Pittman and Tali Sealman published a byline in Infosecurity Magazine on the increase in cybersecurity dealmaking, with 2025 already outpacing last year.

The article noted that rising cybercrime and high demand for digital defenses across the US have driven dealmaking in the space, with the cybersecurity market expanding in lockstep with the scale and growth of cybersecurity threats.

Additionally, dealmaking is being influenced by the regulatory shift in response to the Salt Typhoon attacks, with the Federal Communications Commission calling on US telecom companies to strengthen their defenses.

Though the Middle Eastern conflict introduces great uncertainty to global dealmaking and cybersecurity M&A still faces some challenges such as elevated interest rates, the authors state that for the time being, "all signs point to an acceleration in dealmaking in the space… As attackers adopt new intelligent tools to breach systems and manipulate users, defenders will need to match them in capability and speed."
