Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, Global Private Capital Industry Group and Global Life Sciences and Healthcare Industry Group with the addition of Alex Elser as a partner in Sydney.

"Leading clients continue to trust White & Case to support their most important, complex, cross-border private capital transactions across Australia and the wider Asia-Pacific region," said White & Case Chair Heather McDevitt. "Alex has significant experience advising leading private equity investors and strengthens our global private capital and M&A capabilities."

Alex is a market-leading private equity and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) lawyer, who for more than two decades has led some of the most complex and significant transactions in the Australian market. She has worked with many preeminent global and Australian private equity firms, and has experience across all aspects of transactional work for private equity sponsors, including private M&A, shareholder and joint venture agreements, management equity plans and other equity structuring matters, as well as broad corporate advisory experience. Alex also advises clients on corporate governance matters, corporate compliance and other Australian Corporations Act matters. She joins White & Case from Mallesons (formerly King & Wood Mallesons), where she was a partner, and brings more than 20 years of experience.

"Alex's arrival marks a significant step in the continued expansion of our Australian and Asia-Pacific practice," said Brendan Quinn, partner and leader of the Asia-Pacific region. "Her track record advising key private equity sponsors adds significant depth to our team advising global clients investing into, and out of, Australia."

The addition of Alex as a partner at White & Case continues the Australian expansion of the Firm's Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice and private capital capabilities, following the recent addition of partners Will Stawell from King & Wood Mallesons and Aaron Kenavan and Jamie Palmer from A&O Shearman. White & Case also expanded its Global Intellectual Property Practice in Australia during 2025 with the addition of IT and IP partner Nicholas Boyle from Bird & Bird.
