Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Debt Finance Practice and Financial Services Regulatory Practice with the addition of Christophe Wauters as a partner in Brussels.

"With established teams working across all the world’s major financial markets, Christophe will further bolster our already strong presence in EMEA," said White & Case partner Raphaël Richard, head of the Firm's EMEA Debt Finance Practice. "Christophe’s expertise advising corporate and sovereign clients in Belgium and Francophone Africa aligns with the Firm's global outlook and will allow us to meet increasing client demand."

Christophe's practice focuses on financing, debt restructuring and bank regulation with experience across a broad range of debt financing products. He advises corporates and sovereigns on a variety of international and emerging markets financing transactions and restructurings, particularly sovereign debt financing, cross-border project finance, structured trade finance, direct lending and syndicated lending in Belgium and across Africa. Christophe has also advised on major bail-outs and restructurings of European financial institutions, high yield bond offerings and sovereign debt restructurings. He joins White & Case from Cleary Gottlieb, where he was counsel, and brings more than 20 years of experience.

White & Case partner and Vice Chair Oliver Brettle said: "Maintaining a strong and versatile presence across all key finance markets remains a priority for the Firm, including Brussels as a major hub in Europe. Christophe's addition to our Global Debt Finance Practice follows a number of important lateral partner additions this year, including Jiang Liu and Dylan Glazier in New York and Luca Maffia in Milan."
