Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice with the addition of Ferdinand Mason as a partner in London.

"Our Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice is known for advising clients on high profile, complex, cross-border mandates and we see the demand for our advice on such matters only increasing," said White & Case partner John Reiss, Head of the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. "The addition of Ferdinand in London will provide further strength and depth to our corporate practice in a key jurisdiction in Europe and will have a significant impact on our multi-jurisdictional EMEA offering – supporting our ambition to become the firm of choice for clients in all European markets."

Mason is an experienced international corporate lawyer who creates innovative corporate solutions to execute complex and regulated global public and private M&A deals, regularly working closely with finance, restructuring, regulatory and disputes practices. He has advised across a number of industries including technology, health care, energy, financial services and real estate. Mason has a focus on special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) and also advises boards on corporate governance and capital raisings. Mason joins White & Case from Jones Day, where he was a partner.

Partner Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case's global Executive Committee, said: "M&A continues to be a strategic priority, as evidenced by the promotion to partner of 11 lawyers in our Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice at the start of 2021, including Margot Lindsay and James Pullen in London, and the addition of high profile lateral partners, most recently M&A partner Marc Petitier and antitrust partner Jérémie Marthan, both from Linklaters, Paris. The London M&A practice remains integral to the growth of our global practice due to London's position as a financial centre and its importance in cross-border transactions, and the addition of Ferdinand sends a clear message to the market that we are investing in a broad and deep M&A practice in London for the long haul."
