Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Antitrust Practice and Global Technology Industry Group with the addition of Jonathan Entrena as a partner in Brussels.

"White & Case is recognized globally as an antitrust leader and our team regularly advises some of the world's most influential tech players on their most important, complex, cross-border competition matters," said White & Case partner Rebecca Farrington, co-head of the Firm's Global Antitrust Practice. "Jonathan is a highly experienced European competition lawyer with a unique tech profile whose deep understanding of the industry and practical, commercial approach adds to our strong existing capabilities and is a clear demonstration of our commitment to our tech clients."

Jonathan has more than 20 years of European competition law experience in a career that bridges in-house and private practice, with particular strength navigating complex EU investigations and developing strategic regulatory responses. He was most recently Associate General Counsel and Director of the EU Competition team at Amazon, which covers competition advice across Amazon's businesses, Amazon's Commitments to the European Commission and the UK Competition and Markets Authority, and the Digital Markets Act. Prior to Amazon, which he joined in 2014, he spent time working in US, magic circle and Spanish law firms.

White & Case partner and Vice Chair Oliver Brettle said: "Jonathan's addition supports our continued growth in the technology industry, a strategic priority globally for White & Case. He has a proven track record of successfully building top-performing teams, leading complex competition matters, regulatory strategy and high profile investigations across Europe and follows the arrival of a number of tech-focused lateral partners who have joined us recently across the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific."

Jonathan's arrival is the latest in a string of recent strategic lateral partner additions by White & Case in its Global Technology Industry Group, including [Norman Röchert (from Taylor Wessing) in Germany,] Nicholas Boyle (from Bird & Bird) in Sydney, George Gryllos (from the Court of Justice of the EU) in Brussels, David Stone, Adrian Dykes, Karla Hughes (from A&O Shearman) and Dan Reavill (from Travers Smith) in London and Rahul Rao (from the US Federal Trade Commission) in Washington, DC.
