White & Case Advises Nordic Entertainment Group on SEK 4.35 Billion Directed Share Issue

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Nordic Entertainment Group AB, the Nordic region's leading streaming company, on its SEK 4.35 billion directed share issue to Swedish and international institutional investors. 

"This landmark offering, the second largest private placement of new shares in Sweden, attracted strong interest from existing and new investors in Sweden as well as internationally and was significantly oversubscribed," said White & Case partner Johan Thiman, who co-led the Firm's deal team. 

Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Nordic Entertainment Group is the Nordic region's leading streaming company, operating streaming services, TV channels, radio stations and production companies. Its Viaplay streaming service is available in every Nordic country and is due to launch in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and the US in 2021, followed by five additional markets by 2023.

Citigroup and Carnegie acted as joint global coordinators and Morgan Stanley and Swedbank acted as joint bookrunners in connection with the offering. 

The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partners Johan Thiman (Stockholm), Darragh Byrne (Frankfurt & Stockholm) and Mikko Hulkko (Helsinki) and included associate Christian Meijling (Stockholm).
