Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Debt Finance Practice and Global Financial Institutions Industry Group with the return of Will Stawell as a partner in Sydney.

"Our fully integrated global finance offering across the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific allows us to provide comprehensive and customized advice to our clients across today's most relevant credit products and markets," said White & Case partner Eliza McDougall, head of the Global Debt Finance Practice. "We are excited to welcome Will back to White & Case and to our strong and growing team in Asia-Pacific. His reputation, experience and commitment to serving his clients are a welcome addition to our global team and will help us further our expansion in the important Australian market."

Will is an experienced debt finance lawyer who advises clients on acquisition finance, leverage finance, general corporate finance, private capital, syndicated TLBs, debt trades, PIKs, subordinated instruments, warrants and restructuring and insolvency. A White & Case associate in New York between 2013 and 2016, he rejoins the Firm from King & Wood Mallesons, where he was a partner, and brings nearly 20 years of experience.

White & Case partner and Vice Chair Oliver Brettle said: "Our ongoing strategy is to build globally to ensure we're best placed to support clients on their key deals and the addition of Will, a leading lawyer in the Australia finance market, clearly aligns with that strategy. He also continues the expansion of our strong and successful practice in Australia, following the recent addition in Sydney of M&A lateral partners Aaron Kenavan and Jamie Palmer from A&O Shearman and intellectual property lateral partner Nick Boyle from Bird & Bird, as well as the promotion to partner in Melbourne of project development and finance lawyer Paul Marshall and M&A lawyer Girish Rao."
