Biography

Overview

Cheryl Tedeschi Sloane is a partner in the Firm's Litigation Group. Cheryl has an international practice defending multinational corporations in complex civil litigation and regulatory investigations, with a focus on technology, internet and social media law. Cheryl's representations frequently involve cutting-edge matters implicating data privacy (GDPR), defamation and intermediary liability, and fundamental rights. In particular, she strategizes and manages complex civil and regulatory matters across Europe, Middle East, and Africa to advise on regulatory, legislative, product, and related policy issues that impact technology and social media companies.

Cheryl also has a domestic practice, representing clients in state and federal courts at all stages of the trial and appellate process. She has extensive experience in general commercial disputes and insolvency-related litigation. Such cases include representation of noteholders in the largest governmental bankruptcy in United States history -- Puerto Rico's restructuring under the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act (PROMESA). Cheryl has also represented financial technology (fintech) companies involved with merchant services, payments and credit card processing disputes, as well as construction management firms and developers in construction-related disputes.

Prior to joining the Litigation Group, Cheryl practiced in the Firm's Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Practice Group where she worked on both in-court and out-of-court restructurings and appellate matters. Cheryl also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Ursula Ungaro on the U.S District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
