White & Case wins “Czech Republic Firm of the Year” at Legal 500 Central and Eastern Europe Awards 2025

Global law firm White & Case LLP has been named "Czech Republic Firm of the Year" at the Legal 500 Central and Eastern Europe Awards 2025.

The award recognizes the Firm's work on several matters, including:

  • White & Case advised a club of eight commercial banks and international financial institutions on the up-to-€331 million financing of the construction of the 269MW second phase of the Vifor wind farm in Romania, following our advisory role on the first phase of the project. The Vifor project will be one of Europe's largest onshore wind farms, supplying clean energy to more than 700,000 households.
  • White & Case advised ArcelorMittal Group companies on the restructuring of Liberty Ostrava, the largest Czech steel producer, and the insolvency of its supplier TAMEH CZECH. The case represented the first instance in the Czech Republic where preventive restructuring under the new EU directive overlaps with standard insolvency proceedings.
  • White & Case advised the PPF Group on the first-ever in-depth merger investigation under the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation (FSR). Additionally, the Firm represented the PPF Group in the first notified FSR concentration case.
  • White & Case advised BNP PARIBAS, J.P. Morgan SE and Morgan Stanley Europe SE, as joint global coordinators, joint physical bookrunners and initial purchasers, and UniCredit Bank GmbH, as joint bookrunner and initial purchaser, on the issuance of US$1 billion 6.500% senior secured notes due 2031 and €1 billion 5.250% senior secured notes due 2031 by Czechoslovak Group a.s., a defense, industrial and technology group with global operations.
  • White & Case advised TPG Real Estate on the €470 million sale of a portfolio of ten logistics parks located in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to funds managed by Blackstone of CT Real Estate.
  • White & Case advised CTP Property B.V., Europe's largest publicly listed industrial property developer by GLA and a market leader in the business-smart markets of Central and Eastern Europe, on the acquisition of P3's Romanian logistics portfolio.
  • White & Case advised Mehiläinen on its acquisitions of Regina Maria in Romania and MediGroup in Serbia from private equity firm MidEuropa.
  • White & Case LLP advised Actis on its acquisition of a newly carved-out tower portfolio from leading Central & Eastern European telecommunications operator Telekom Srbija.
  • White & Case advised Emma Capital on the establishment of the first Czech-law-governed dual-issuer CZK 7.5 billion note programme, and the concurrent debut issuances of CZK- and euro-denominated senior guaranteed and secured notes under the programme. The transaction involved the issuance of CZK 2.5 billion 6.00% notes due 2030 by Emma Finance CZ a.s., and €50 million 5.25% notes due 2030 by Emma Finance SK a.s.
