Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice with the addition of Justin Jowitt as a partner in London.

"We are incredibly active advising on large scale real estate finance transactions and our borrower side mandates in this area have continued to grow through the pandemic," said White & Case partner John Reiss, Head of the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. "English law governed real estate financing covers not just the UK but most of Europe and beyond, and the addition of an experienced real estate finance partner in London will help us respond to client demand across EMEA."

Jowitt is one of the leading real estate finance lawyers and advises lenders and borrowers across EMEA on all aspects of real estate finance, including senior and mezzanine investment and development facilities, loan sales and distribution, distressed debt, work-outs and restructurings and Sharia-compliant financings. Jowitt brings more than 20 years of experience and joins White & Case from Paul Hastings, where he was a partner.

"Justin is a highly rated and recognised real estate finance advisor with a strong track-record advising on complex and high-value cross-border transactions," said White & Case partner James Dodsworth, Regional Section Head EMEA M&A/Specialists. "He joins the growing real estate finance practice in London, which includes partners Jeffrey Rubinoff, Victoria Landsbert and Sudhir Nair, and his skills, experience and market contacts make him the perfect addition to further grow our practice across EMEA."

Oliver Brettle, a member of White & Case's global Executive Committee, said: "We've made a number of additions and promotions this year, bringing on leading, high-calibre partners in target practices and industries who will support the Firm's further profitable growth. Notably this includes the addition of infrastructure M&A and finance partners Katie Hicks and Tim Sheddick from Shearman and Sterling and M&A partner Ferdinand Mason from Jones Day in London, as well as the move of partners Lionel Shawe and Sibu Zungu and their team from Allen & Overy in South Africa. White & Case offers these partners a platform with global reach and a unified approach across offices, which makes us best placed to advise clients on their most important international matters."
