White & Case advises investors on BNP Paribas REIM’s majority acquisition of Italian healthcare real estate portfolio

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised institutional investors on the acquisition by BNP Paribas Real Estate Investment Management (BNP Paribas REIM), BNP Paribas Group's real estate investment management company, of a majority stake in an Italian portfolio of 23 healthcare assets through its Healthcare Property Fund Europe.

The portfolio was acquired from French real estate investment and development company Icade together with other institutional investors that rolled over their existing stake in the portfolio into the new partnership with BNP Paribas REIM.

The acquisition further strengthens BNP Paribas REIM's dedicated European healthcare fund and the portfolio, with a total value exceeding €300 million, includes five acute and medium term care facilities and 18 elderly care facilities located across northern and central Italy.

The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partners Nathalie Negre (Paris), Domenico Fanuele, Giovanni Cirelli (both Milan) and Arnaud Cagi-Nicolau (Luxembourg) and included counsel Henri Bousseau (Paris) and associates Lea Vallois (Paris) and Francesco Speciale (Milan).
