Overview

Jan Ole focuses on mergers and acquisitions and private equity deals.

Advising on privately negotiated transactions and public takeovers, Jan Ole has broad transaction experience, including complex German and cross-border deals.

Representing corporate clients, investors and private equity firms, Jan Ole also offers advice on a range of general corporate law issues and capital markets law matters.

In 2018, Jan Ole was seconded to London-based private equity investor Novalpina Capital.

Prior to joining White & Case, Jan Ole worked for major international law firms in Frankfurt, London, New York and Munich as an associate and as a trainee lawyer.

Battery Ventures
Advised (i) Forterro, a European group of ERP software companies backed by private equity investor Battery Ventures, on its acquisition of abas Software AG and (ii) Battery Ventures' VertiGIS Group on the acquistion of SynerGIS GIS & FM Solutions, a provider of GIS-based information and specialist systems for public administration and companies.

Triton
Advised (i) private equity investor Triton on the acquisition of WernerCo, a Switzerland-based fully integrated international manufacturer and distributor of ladders, secure storage systems and light duty construction equipment and (ii) WernerCo on its acquisition of ZARGES Group from Baird Capital and Granville, VR Equitypartner and the management team ZARGES.

EQT
Advised private equity investor EQT's portfolio company Piab on the acquisition of FEBA AUTOMATION & Modulare Systeme GmbH.

Nordic Capital
Advised private equity investor Nordic Capital on the acquisition of the Sunrise Medical group from Equistone Partners Europe. 

Allianz Capital Partners, Borealis, Infinity Investments and MEAG
Advised an international consortium of infrastructure investors comprising Allianz Capital Partners, Borealis Infrastructure Management Inc., Infinity Investments SA and MEAG, the asset management arm of Munich Re, on its acquisition of German autobahn services station chain "Tank & Rast". 

Palero 
Advised private equity investor palero (i) on the sale of Heinrich Kopp GmbH to the Saudi alfanar Group, (ii) on the acquisition of a 50 percent stake in the India-based Encotec Energy (India) Pvt. Ltd. by VPC GmbH and (iii) the acquisition of Medical One AG. 

Allianz Renewable Energy Fund
Advised Allianz Renewable Energy Fund on several acquisitions in the renewable energy sector. 

PATRIZIA Alternative Investments
Advised PATRIZIA Alternative Investments GmbH on the acquisition of two retail asset portfolios with a total deal volume of approx. EUR 500 million.

United Arab Shipping Company
Advised container shipping liner United Arab Shipping Company on its merger with German-listed Hapag-Lloyd AG, creating a combined entity with an annual turnover of around US$ 12 billion. 

Continental
Advised Continental AG on the acquisition of the automotive business of Elektrobit Corporation.

Commerzbank 
Advised Commerzbank AG on the sale of its subsidiary Commerz Japan Real Estate Finance Corporation to PAG. 

Nokia
Advised Nokia on the acquisition of Siemens' 50% stake in their joint venture, Nokia Siemens Networks.*
