Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Financial Services Regulatory Practice and Global Private Capital Industry Group with the addition of David Adams as a partner in Washington, DC.
"Our clients are increasingly operating where private capital, financial institutions and regulation converge," said Henning Berger, Head of White & Case's Financial Services Regulatory Practice. "David's distinctive skillset in cross-border digital asset operations, financial regulation and broker-dealer matters deepens our bench and will be key to our clients navigating these issues across complex, fast-evolving markets."
David's practice sits at the intersection of technology, financial institutions and US financial regulation. He focuses on US and cross-border broker-dealer and investment adviser regulation, FINRA rules, exchange and ATS matters, financial technology (including Generative AI) and digital assets. He advises clients on regulated platform formation, acquisition, restructuring and expansion, US distribution and placement arrangements, adviser status, registration and exemption questions, digital asset strategies and regulatory issues arising in cross-border product launches and US market entry.
His arrival further strengthens White & Case's ability to support clients across its financial institutions, investment funds, capital markets, M&A, fintech and private capital platforms.
"White & Case's global platform is an ideal fit for the practice I have built and am excited to grow," said David. "Its strength across financial institutions, investment funds, capital markets, M&A, fintech and private capital platforms creates significant opportunities to help clients solve US regulatory issues in a practical, commercially focused way."
David joins White & Case from another international law firm, where he was a partner. Before entering private practice, he gained industry experience working in the Division of Investment Management at the US Securities and Exchange Commission and in Market Regulation at NASD, the predecessor of FINRA.
White & Case has continued to expand its Washington, DC office over the past year with the additions of lateral partners Christina England-Livengood, Sue Nieto, Ruta Kalvaitis Skučas and George Fatula.
