Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Ahlstrom-Munksjö on the reorganization of the ownership of its Decor business to a newly formed company that will be named Munksjö.

The new Munksjö company will be majority owned by Ahlström Capital and Nidoco AB, both of which are affiliates of the current minority owners of Ahlstrom-Munksjö, which will remain a minority owner of the new Munksjö company.

The planned reorganization is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of 2022, after which Ahlstrom-Munksjö plans to change its name to Ahlstrom. As separate companies, the increased management and board focus will support the newly-named Ahlstrom and Munksjö in achieving further sustainable global growth.

Ahlstrom-Munksjö is a global leader in fiber-based materials, supplying innovative and sustainable solutions to its customers. The Decor business offers a broad range of high quality decor papers across Europe, North and South America, Asia and other selected export markets.

The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partner Janko Lindros (Helsinki) and included partners Matthias Kiesewetter (Hamburg), Jost Kotthoff (Frankfurt), Tilman Kuhn (Düsseldorf & Brussels) and Jean Paszkudzki (Paris), local partner Moritz Müller-Buttmann (Hamburg) and associates Olga Lehtonen, Samuel Salmivirta (both Helsinki), Mathias Bogusch (Frankfurt), Nico Frehse (Hamburg) and Maud Fillon (Paris).
