White & Case Advises a Consortium of Lenders on Copper-Gold Mining Project in Alagoas, Brazil

Global law firm White & Case LLP advised a consortium of lenders in the closing of a US$140 million senior secured bank project financing facility for the development of the Serrote open pit copper-gold mine and processing plant project in Alagoas, Brazil.

The financing package will be used to complete the construction of the 4.1 million tonnes per annum project, which is expected to achieve first production in the second half of 2021. Serrote will be the first major mining project in Alagoas.

The White & Case team that advised on the transaction was led by partner Oliver Wright in New York. Additional team members from the firm's New York, Miami, São Paulo and London offices included partners Fernando de la Hoz, Rebecca Campbell, Hamad Al-Hoshan, Ian Cuillerier and associates Sean Williams, Camille Mendoza Soto, Rhys Bortignon and Xuefeng Wu.
