Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Swiss industrial company Georg Fischer AG (GF) on the US$336 million sale of its automotive unit GF Casting Solutions to Nemak S.A.B. de C.V. (Nemak), a Mexico-headquartered global supplier of lightweight aluminum solutions for the automotive industry.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close during the second half of 2025. The sale includes the entire GF Casting Solutions automotive business, which reported an annual turnover of approximately CHF 622 million in 2024, as well as nine production sites in Europe, China and the US comprising approximately 2,500 employees.

Switzerland-headquartered GF is an international, publicly-listed industrial corporation which provides essential products and solutions that enable the safe and sustainable transport of fluids worldwide. The divestment of the automotive business is part of its new strategic focus and increases flexibility for further growth and value-creating investments in these areas.

Nemak is a provider of lightweight solutions for the global automotive industry, specializing in the development and manufacture of aluminium components for e-mobility, structure and chassis and ICE powertrain applications.

The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partners Stefan Bressler (Frankfurt & Hamburg) and Gernot Wagner (Frankfurt) and included partners Rebecca Emory, Sebastian Stütze (both Frankfurt), Thilo Wienke (Düsseldorf) and Orion Berg (Paris) and associates Fabian Mayer (Berlin), Maximilian Eichhorn and Enno Miedtank (both Hamburg).
