White & Case partner Henrik Patel (New York) has been named the recipient of the UAC People's Choice Award by the Unemployment Action Center (UAC), an organization dedicated to empowering New Yorkers facing unemployment through law student advocacy. The award will be presented to Patel on March 31, 2015 at the UAC’s Annual Benefit & Awards Reception featuring keynote speaker Eric Schneiderman, New York State Attorney General. The award recognizes Patel’s long-tenured service in support of the UAC as a former advocate, Treasurer and advisor. The event supports UAC's advocacy on behalf of community members and celebrates the dedication of law students from New York University School of Law, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Fordham University School of Law, Brooklyn Law School, Columbia Law School, Touro Law Center, Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and New York Law School.
Patel heads White & Case's Americas Employment, Compensation and Benefits practice. He advises numerous US and non-US clients (including public and private companies, boards of directors and executives) on executive compensation and employee benefits aspects of various corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, spin-offs, succession planning, debt and equity financings, initial public offerings, private equity and leveraged buyout transactions and banking transactions. He has extensive experience with financial services institutions, private equity and hedge fund clients.
