White & Case wins “Banking and Finance Legal Adviser of the Year” and 18 other awards at CEE, Central Asia & Türkiye Awards 2025

Global Banking & Markets has named global law firm White & Case LLP "Banking and Finance Legal Adviser of the Year" at its 2025 CEE, Central Asia & Türkiye Awards, which recognize "the most innovative & groundbreaking deals" across CEE, Central Asia & Türkiye's financial markets.

White & Case also won 18 awards for its work on the following transactions:

Global Banking & Markets Deal of the Year 
White & Case advised BNP Paribas, J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley Europe, as joint global coordinators, joint physical bookrunners and initial purchasers, and UniCredit Bank, as joint bookrunner and initial purchaser, on the issuance of senior secured notes by Czechoslovak Group. The transaction involved the issuance of US$1 billion 6.500 percent senior secured notes due 2031 and €1 billion 5.250 percent senior secured notes due 2031, offered under Rule 144A and Regulation S. The notes are secured by an extensive collateral package and were incorporated into the group's broader financing framework. The transaction attracted significant investor interest, resulting in the initial offering being oversubscribed by more than four times.

Corporate Bond Deal of the Year and Deal of the Year – Türkiye
White & Case, in partnership with GKC Partners, advised Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Üretim A.Ş., Türkiye's leading geothermal power generator, on the Rule 144A/Reg S US$1 billion debut sustainability-linked Eurobond issuance. The notes were issued in two tranches, with US$800 million issued on October 23, 2024, and US$200 million on November 7, 2024.

Debut SSA Bond Deal of the Year
White & Case advised the joint lead managers on the debut €350 million notes issuance by the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Corporate Syndicated Loan of the Year
White & Case, in partnership with GKC Partners, advised Enerjisa Üretim Santralleri A.Ş. on an up to US$1.012 billion financing that was made available by a syndicate of lenders to finance the development and construction of 750 MW wind energy power plants in the Aegean region of Türkiye under the YEKA-2 WPP scheme.

Project Finance Deal of the Year
White & Case, in partnership with GKC Partners, advised J.P. Morgan Securities plc, as initial purchaser, on the US$405 million 7.536% secured amortizing notes issued by ICA İçtas Altyapı Yavuz Sultan Selim Köprüsü ve Kuzey Çevre Otoyolu Yatırım ve İşletme A.Ş. (ICA).

SSA Local Currency Bond of the Year
White & Case advised the Republic of Uzbekistan, represented by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as issuer, on the UZS 6 trillion tranche as part of a three-tranche US$1.5 billion Eurobond issuance under Uzbekistan's global MTN Programme.

Local Currency Loan Deal of the Year
White & Case, in partnership with GKC Partners, advised the lenders on the TL 17.1 billion CAPEX financing for the electricity distribution and retail companies in the Uludağ Region.

ESG Bond Deal of the Year
White & Case, in partnership with GKC Partners, advised the joint bookrunners including Emirates NBD Capital, J.P. Morgan Securities plc and Bofa Securities on the debut Rule 144A/Reg S US$525 million green bond issuance by Limak Yenilenebilir Enerji A.Ş., comprising an initial US$450 million offering followed by a US$75 million tap issuance consolidated into a single series.

Blended Finance Deal of the Year 
White & Case, in partnership with GKC Partners, advised J.P. Morgan, Citibank, HSBC and Emirates NBD, as joint bookrunners, on the debut Rule 144A/Reg S US$350 million guaranteed sustainable notes issuance by Rönesans Holding A.Ş., a Turkish conglomerate primarily operating in the real estate and construction sectors.

Natural Resources Deal of the Year 
White & Case advised ORLEN S.A., one of the largest multi-energy corporations in the CEE region, on the issuance of ten-year unsecured bonds with a nominal value of US$1.25 billion. This marks ORLEN's inaugural bond issuance targeted at US investors based on the registration exemption pursuant to Rule 144A under the US Securities Act. The bonds were issued under the global medium-term note programme established by ORLEN and are listed on the regulated market operated by Euronext Dublin. White & Case also advised on the update of the programme.

Private Credit Deal of the Year 
White & Case, in partnership with GKC Partners, advised Dream Games on the debt financing provided by the funds managed by various investors, including Blackstone as the lead provider.

Transport Finance Deal of the Year 
White & Case, in partnership with GKC Partners, advised a consortium of international development banks and commercial lenders on the €2.5 billion refinancing and long-term project financing for the Antalya Airport concession in Türkiye. The lender consortium consisted of international development banks, including IFC, AIIB, EBRD and DEG, international commercial banks, including Deutsche Bank, Alpha Bank, National Bank of Greece, Bank of China and Turkish banks Akbank, Vakıfbank, Ziraatbank, TEB, Garanti BBVA and QNB. The financing supports the concession for Antalya Airport awarded to Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide and TAV Havalimanları Holding A.Ş. by the Turkish State Airports Authority.

Islamic Capital Markets Deal of the Year 
White & Case, in partnership with GKC Partners, advised Emirates NBD Capital Limited and Dubai Islamic Bank PJSC on a US$175 million commodity Murabaha financing club facility for Yeni Mağazacılık A.Ş., a Turkish retail company operating a discount supermarket chain known as A101.

High Yield Deal of the Year 
White & Case, in partnership with GKC Partners, advised joint bookrunners Citigroup Global Markets Limited, Emirates NBD Capital Ltd., HSBC Bank plc, ING Bank N.V. and BofA Securities on the Rule 144A/Reg S US$300 million debut Eurobond issuance by Çimko Çimento ve Beton Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş., a leading Turkish cement and ready-mix concrete producer.

Deal of the Year – Czechia 
White & Case advised Energo-Pro, a leading electricity distribution and hydropower generation company in the Black Sea region, on its issuance of €700 million 8.00 percent guaranteed notes due 2030, offered under Rule 144A and Regulation S, and a subsequent €50 million tap issuance. The notes are admitted to trading on the regulated market of Euronext Dublin.

Deal of the Year – Uzbekistan 
White & Case advised joint-stock company Uzbekneftegaz, the national oil and gas company of Uzbekistan, on its US$850 million Eurobond offering. The transaction represents the largest single-tranche issuance of corporate Eurobond offering in Uzbekistan.

Deal of the Year – Kazakhstan 
White & Case advised Citigroup, J.P. Morgan and Société Générale, as joint lead managers, and BCC Invest, as the local organizer, on the update of a US$15 billion medium term notes programme for Kazakhstan and offering of US$1.5 billion 4.714% notes due in 2034 by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
