For outstanding project finance work in Latin America in 2016, the White & Case Americas Energy, Infrastructure, Project and Asset Finance (EIPAF) practice was honored with a host of top rankings and honors.
Most recently, Project Finance International recognized the team's work with its "Latin America Power Deal of the Year" award in its 2016 PFI Awards, for the long-term dollar and Chilean peso-denominated project financing obtained by Transmisora Eléctrica del Norte S.A. for a 600 km electricity transmission line and related substations connecting the Sistema Interconectado Central and the Sistema Interconectado del Norte Grande of Chile.
"We are honored to have represented a diverse group of international and Chilean commercial banks and Prudential in the financing of one of the most important infrastructure projects in Chile in the last two decades," said Carlos Viana (Miami), who co-led the Firm's team with Jeannine Acevedo (New York). The project will allow the integration of Chile's two main power grids, strengthening energy security, boosting competitiveness in the country's power sector and reducing costs for consumers.
