International Arbitration Practice Group rises to Band One in Chambers Global
White & Case's International Arbitration Practice Group has risen to Band One in Chambers Global, one of only two firms worldwide to be ranked in the highest category.
Chambers Global notes: "This firm achieves a top ranking this year thanks to its strong performance on cases around the world and the virtually unrivalled depth and spread of its team. In addition to its leading groups in New York and Washington, DC the firm is a key player in Paris, Stockholm, London and throughout Latin America. A significant proportion of its top cases involve states, with highlights including victories on behalf of Romania in cases against EDF and Noble Ventures. The group also represents Georgia in an ICSID arbitration against Itera Group regarding a chemical fertiliser plant, and acted for Uzbekistan in an investment treaty dispute involving an Israeli mining company. A recent mandate involved acting for Peru in an ICSID case related to the Lima airport toll road. On the commercial side the firm has major cases involving the financial services, natural resources, construction and transport sectors." Sources say: "World class. They have a very big team and are dominant in their key areas." "I would give them the highest marks possible. I wish every firm was as responsive!"
In addition, White & Case's International Arbitration practice in Paris has moved up to Band One in Chambers France, one of only three firms to be ranked in the highest category. It joins our US International Arbitration practice, which has been ranked in Band One in Chambers USA for many years.
