Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Antitrust Practice and Global Technology Industry Group with the addition of Georgios (George) Gryllos as a partner in Brussels.
"EU litigation has seen a sizable increase in the wake of new regulations, predominantly in the digital and tech sectors, and we are proud to be a market leader in this space," said White & Case partner Rebecca Farrington, co-head of the Firm's Global Antitrust Practice. "The addition of George, who has worked in the EU courts for many years and is a thought leader on the Digital Markets Act (DMA), further strengthens our offering."
George has extensive experience across all aspects of EU litigation, spending more than two decades as a Legal Secretary (Référendaire) at the General Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). An expert in EU digital regulation, he has worked on all types of cases before both the EU General Court and the CJEU, including direct actions, appeals and preliminary reference proceedings.
George's experience at the General Court and the CJEU encompasses a wide range of EU law including antitrust, intellectual property, State aid, chemicals, free movement, broadcasting, pharmaceuticals, trade, public procurement, concessions, taxation, Brexit, the Rule of law and asset freezing.
White & Case partner and Vice Chair, Oliver Brettle said: "Antitrust remains a strategic priority for White & Case globally, particularly at a time when EU regulations are continually evolving and resulting in increased client demand. We have expanded our global antitrust and regulatory capabilities over the past year with the lateral addition of partners Euan Burrows in London, Rahul Rao in Washington, DC, Sabrina Borocci in Milan, Erasmus Hoffman in Berlin and Ingo Brinker in Düsseldorf, and the internal promotion to partner at the start of 2025 of Jaclyn Phillips in Washington, DC and Giuseppe Tantulli in Brussels."
