International Financial Law Review (IFLR) honored White & Case with six awards at its 12th annual Middle East Awards dinner on October 18.
The Law Firm of AlSalloum and AlToaimi in association with White & Case LLP was named "Best law firm in Saudi Arabia." The Firm received awards for "Equity team of the year" and also "Managing partner of the year" for Doug Peel (Riyadh), the Firm's Head of the Middle East.
In addition, three transactions on which White & Case advised were named "Deals of the Year":
"Debt-Equity Linked Deal of the Year" for White & Case's representation of Citigroup, HSBC and J.P. Morgan in the establishment of a global medium-term note (GMTN) program for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the program's subsequent issuance of US$17.5 billion in notes—the largest ever emerging market sovereign bond offering.
"Equity Deal of the Year" for White & Case's representation of ADES International Holding Ltd., a leading provider of offshore and onshore oil and gas drilling and mobile production services in the Middle East and Africa, in the US$696.4 million initial public offering of ADES's ordinary shares on the standard listing segment of the London Stock Exchange.
"Project Finance Deal of the Year" for White & Case's representation of the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (and related entities in the energy sector) in connection with the US$ multi-billion Barakah nuclear project being developed in Abu Dhabi.. The project represents the United Arab Emirates' first nuclear energy project, and is one of the largest such projects in the world.
