Ryan Hopkins Joins White & Case as a Partner in Houston

Global law firm White & Case LLP continues to expand its Houston office with the addition of new partner Ryan Hopkins. Hopkins will be part of the Firm's Global Project Development and Finance Practice and Global Construction Group and he will also work closely with its Global Oil & Gas Industry Group.

"We are thrilled to welcome Ryan to our growing Houston office. He brings a unique skill set handling complex oil & gas projects, with a very strong focus on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC)," said Jason Webber, Co-Head of White & Case's Global Oil & Gas Industry Group. "We are experiencing an oil & gas renaissance in the US which has created long-term opportunities for both US and foreign companies to invest in the space – building pipelines, terminals and manufacturing facilities. Ryan's highly specialized expertise with EPC projects makes him a rare commodity that will enable us to expand our ability to serve our clients from the inception of projects through the construction and operation phases."

Hopkins comes to White & Case from Linde Engineering North America Inc., where he was General Counsel and responsible for all legal matters including corporate and business legal issues, covering contracts, governance, real estate, intellectual property, employment, audits, compliance and litigation for four North American subsidiary companies.

Hopkins previously worked alongside White & Case partner David Strickland at King & Spalding, where they worked on a team supporting clients in all legal aspects of their construction projects. They will once again work together at White & Case to help grow and support the Firm's construction capabilities.

"Industry has come back to the US in a big way across various sectors and companies need to adjust by changing their infrastructure strategies," said Ellis Baker, Head of White & Case's Global Construction Group. "In reaction to this shift, we are continuing to rapidly expand our top-ranked Global Construction Group in the US, with seven lawyers dedicated to the space in Houston alone. Adding a highly skilled lawyer such as Ryan further enhances our ability to provide our clients with the highest level of expertise."
