Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Acciona on its acquisition of an 80 percent stake in Vertical Earth, a civil construction contractor.

The transaction consolidates Atlanta as the strategic hub for Acciona’s infrastructure division growth in the US, providing Acciona with a significant boost to its self-performing execution capabilities, along with local knowledge and access to the necessary suppliers and talent. The deal is expected to close before the end of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals. Brett Johnson, founder and CEO of Vertical Earth, will retain a 20 percent stake in the company and will carry on as its chief executive.

The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partners Ignacio Paz, Pablo García-Nieto (both Madrid), Rodrigo Domínguez, Luisa Muskus, Neil Clausen and Michael Yates (all Houston) and associates Leticia Calbacho, Juan Presmanes, Victoria Paternina Vericat (all Madrid), Luis Leos, Maren Flood, Emily Pendleton, Heather Luu (all Houston), and Gabriela Baca (Washington, DC)
