Global law firm White & Case LLP has executed the next step in the growth of its Global Financial Restructuring and Insolvency Practice (FRI) with the addition of Brian Pfeiffer as a partner. Pfeiffer, who is moving his practice from Schulte Roth & Zabel, will split his time between the Firm's New York and Miami offices.
"Brian is a great addition to the group. His predominantly creditor-side practice complements what we do in that space and gives us more of the bandwidth we need to keep up with the growth of our business," said Thomas Lauria, Global Head of White & Case's FRI Practice. "This move is another demonstration of the Firm's commitment to the growth of our Practice, which has become known for its tenacity and its ability to help its clients find creative solutions to their most challenging situations."
Pfeiffer's move follows the hiring of partners Philip Abelson and David Turetsky earlier this month into the Firm's FRI Practice, which is a recognized leader in complex, cross-border insolvencies and workouts.
"White & Case has developed one of the preeminent restructuring practices in the world, as parties seek the Firm's counsel to accomplish their goals," said Pfeiffer. "I look forward to working with my new colleagues to broaden the practice's client base."
Pfeiffer's work includes all aspects of in-court and out-of-court restructurings of financially distressed companies. His experience has been honed working for ad hoc groups of bondholders and lenders, official and unofficial creditors' and equity committees and purchasers and sellers of distressed assets and businesses. Pfeiffer has advised on restructurings across a broad range of industries and sectors, including real estate, telecommunications, financial services, energy, technology, automotive and forestry.
"Brian has been involved in many of the same restructuring matters we have handled, and we have a number of common clients," said Scott Greissman, a partner in White & Case's FRI Americas Practice. "His extensive and wide-ranging experience gives a further boost to our ability to assist clients navigating the difficulties that always arise in complex restructuring matters."
