White & Case Advises Conservation International on Partnership with MSIG Asia to Support Biodiversity

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised pro bono client Conservation International Asia-Pacific (Conservation International) on the establishment of its three-year partnership with MSIG Holdings (Asia) Pte. Ltd. (MSIG Asia).

The new partnership will champion biodiversity conservation in the Asia-Pacific region and raise awareness about the value of biodiversity and nature. It will support a variety of biodiversity conservation efforts in Asia-Pacific which underpin the well-being of millions of people through the water, food, fuel, medicines and climate regulation these ecosystems provide. The partnership aims to contribute to the conservation of approximately 9,500 hectares of forest and 72,500 hectares of ocean.

Robert Baigrie, Conservation International's Senior Director, Partnerships and Conservation Finance, and Head of Developed Markets, Asia Pacific, said: "This partnership further demonstrates our commitment to biodiversity conservation in Southeast Asia and beyond, and we are grateful for White & Case's support of our sustainability efforts in the region."

White & Case partner Jon Bowden, who led the Firm's team acting pro bono, said: "Working alongside Conservation International's general counsel, we have advised the organization on the creation of an important new partnership which supports the vital cause of protecting and promoting biodiversity in Asia-Pacific."

Founded in 1987, Conservation International focuses on innovation and investments in nature-based solutions to the climate crisis, supporting protections for critical habitats and fostering economic development grounded in the conservation of nature.

The White & Case team in Singapore which advised on the transaction was led by partner Jon Bowden with support from associate Si Wei Chua.
