White & Case Advises Seplat on Acquisition of Eland Oil & Gas

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Seplat Petroleum Development Company Plc (Seplat) on its recommended cash acquisition of Eland Oil & Gas PLC (Eland) for approximately £382 million.

"This acquisition is a significant next step for Seplat to realise its ambition to be the leading independent exploration and production company in Nigeria," said White & Case partner Allan Taylor, who led the Firm's deal team. "It is also further evidence of White & Case's expertise advising on strategic, high profile oil & gas M&A deals."

Seplat is a leading independent oil and natural gas producer in the Niger Delta area of Nigeria and a leading supplier of processed natural gas to the domestic market. It has been fully listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange since April 2014.

Eland is an independent oil and gas company focused on production, development and exploration in West Africa, particularly the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
