Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised on the long-term project financing for a 875 km toll road project in the central Andean region of Peru.
The financing will cover the development, construction, operation and maintenance of the road, Longitudinal de La Sierra – Tramo 2. In addition to constructing new roadways, the project also requires the rehabilitation and maintenance of existing roadways. The project’s sponsors are SACYR Concesiones, S.L.U., SACYR Concesiones Perú S.A.C. and Constructora Málaga Hnos. S.A.
The venture is being constructed at significant altitudes, with its highest point at 3,733 meters above sea level and will connect a number of important cities surrounding or adjacent to the City of Cajamarca, a mining industry hub.
This transaction closed on December 17 and is the first international financing of a Peruvian milestone-based project structured in the bank financing market.
