Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Banca IMI, UniCredit, Banca Iccrea and Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank, acting as dealers and co-dealers, on the issuance by the Republic of Italy of €20.6 billion, six-year BTP Italia bonds that are linked to Italian inflation.
The offering was carried out over two separate periods, which represented a significant change in approach to prior BTP Italia offerings. The first period, which lasted less than three days, was targeted at retail investors, who bought bonds to an approximate value of €10.1 billion. The second period, which lasted less than one hour, was targeted at institutional investors, who bought approximately €10.5 billion worth of bonds.
The White & Case team in Milan was led by partner Paola Leocani and included associate Pietro Magnaghi, who advised on the deal's unique dual-offering period structure and the relevant documentation.
