Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised The Boeing Company on a joint venture with Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries and Alsalam Aircraft Company to create the Saudi Rotorcraft Support Center in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The joint venture will have locations in Riyadh and Jeddah, providing comprehensive, in-country maintenance repair and overhaul support for Saudi Arabia’s commercial and defense rotorcraft fleet.
"As the Kingdom expands its fleet of military and civil helicopters there is a need for greater in-country maintenance support," said White & Case partner Euan Pinkerton. "We are very pleased to have successfully supported our client Boeing on this important joint venture, which brings together the expertise of three leading companies and will meet those maintenance needs."
Formation of the joint venture is expected to occur in late 2015 or early 2016, subject to customary closing conditions and receipt of regulatory approvals.
The White & Case team was led by Riyadh-based partner Euan Pinkerton, with support from partner Ashley Ballard (London and Istanbul) and associates Yazeed Al Toaimi, Emad Zowawi and Mansour Alobaidallah (all Riyadh).
This is the second time in just over twelve months that White & Case has advised Boeing on a joint venture support centre. In 2014, Boeing and SIA Engineering Company signed a definitive agreement to establish the Boeing Asia Pacific Aviation Services, which will provide engineering, spare parts and repair and maintenance services for Boeing aeroplanes in the Asia Pacific region.
