Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Chiyoda Corporation on the establishment of a 50:50 joint venture with Ezra's Subsea Services business, EMAS AMC, a leading engineering, procurement, construction and installation contractor, to create EMAS CHIYODA Subsea.
The transaction, initially announced on August 27, 2015, is subject to the approval of Ezra shareholders and other conditions. It is expected to close by year-end.
The collaboration allows Chiyoda to accelerate its expansion of the Offshore & Upstream business portfolio and provides EMAS AMC the opportunity to expand its subsea-to-surface offering and provide more value to clients and partners.
Chiyoda President & CEO Shogo Shibuya said: "With the establishment of EMAS CHIYODA Subsea, we are in a position to provide comprehensive services to our clients, from early phase concept study to EPCI, throughout the life cycle of any offshore oil and gas project. Chiyoda is excited about this new opportunity and glad that we can jointly work with an excellent subsea player, EMAS AMC".
