Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised FSN Capital and its portfolio company Bygghemma on its acquisition of online Nordic retailer Furniturebox.
"Furniturebox is a great example of a successful online retailer that has understood the importance of using new technology to meet customer demands, and is a great acquisition for Bygghemma," said Stockholm-based White & Case partner Johan Steen, who co-led the Firm's deal team. "Combined with a number of other Nordic tech and internet deals, including Avito, Supercell and Bygghemma, the deal showcases the strength White & Case has built in tech M&A."
Stockholm-based White & Case partner Carl Hugo Parment, who co-led the deal team, said: "Private equity sponsors appreciate the capability and experience of our fully integrated M&A and banking teams. The Furniturebox acquisition is one of the first deals in what we expect to be a very busy year for our private equity practice."
White & Case advised FSN Capital on its acquisition of Nordic do-it-yourself retailer Bygghemma in 2016. Bygghemma was founded in 2006 and has expanded into a pan-Nordic group with both physical and online stores in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark, employing around 400 people. In 2016 it was acquired by the leading Nordic private equity investor FSN Capital. Furniturebox was founded in 2006 and, between 2012 and 2016, achieved an increase in turnover from 5 MSEK to 425 MSEK.
The White & Case team in Stockholm which advised on the transaction was led by partners Carl Hugo Parment and Johan Steen, with support from associates John Gustafson, Michael Bolling, Andreas Hallbeck and Hanna Wingren.
