Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. on a US$2 billion Tier 2 subordinated Yankee bond placed under its US$25 billion Medium Term Note Programme.
The subordinated bond issuance is one of the first for an Italian bank in the US market, bears a fixed rate of 5.017 percent and matures in ten years. The notes are exempt from registration under Section 144A of the U.S. Securities Act.
