Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Mid Europa Partners, the leading private equity investor in Central and South Eastern Europe, on the sale of Zabka Polska to funds advised by CVC Capital Partners.
"This landmark deal in the Polish market showcases the strength of our private equity practice in EMEA as well as our strong relationship with Mid Europa, which has been built on the support we've provided for a series of successful transactions in recent years," said London-based White & Case partner Ian Bagshaw, who led the Firm's deal team.
Zabka is Poland's leading convenience retailer and its sale, which is subject to customary competition authority clearance and is expected to close during the second quarter of 2017, is the largest ever transaction in the Polish food retail sector and the largest ever private equity exit in Poland.
The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partner Ian Bagshaw (London) and included partners Ken Barry, Martin Forbes, Peita Menon (all London), Marcin Studniarek (Warsaw) and Mark Powell (Brussels), local partners Aneta Hajska (Warsaw) and Katarzyna Czapracka (Brussels, Warsaw), counsel Peter Lewis (London) and Bartosz Smardzewski (Warsaw), and associates Ben von Maur, Ivo Cavrak, Hillary Roberts, Glordiola Duli, Oliver Arnott, Nicola Chapman and Paul Harrington (all London).
