The Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY) has honored White & Case with its "Law Firm Diversity Award" for 2017, in recognition of the Firm's "outstanding support of diversity and inclusion," according to AABANY. The Association selects only one firm for the award annually. White & Case Chairman Hugh Verrier accepted the award on behalf of the Firm at the AABANY Annual Dinner on February 22, 2017.

In its statement announcing White & Case's achievement, AABANY wrote, "Examples of the firm's significant achievements in this area include its continual status as 100% LGBT inclusive (measured by the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index), its relentless drive in creating new links with Asian American legal communities (as well as maintaining and enriching existing ones), and its careful attentiveness in crafting a pipeline of leadership for women and minority attorneys."

White & Case Partner Of Counsel Sylvia Chin (New York), co-chair of the Firm's Asian Affinity Group, noted, "We are honored to have AABANY recognize our commitment to diversity and in particular our efforts to implement inclusive strategies to bolster retention and promotion of our diverse lawyers."

AABANY's Law Firm Diversity Award continues an extraordinary period of global recognition for the White & Case Diversity Initiative. The Firm received the 2016 Law Firm Diversity Award from the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and the Hope Award for Diversity from the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Silicon Valley. The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) recently named White & Case the Number 1 firm in its 2016 Do Good, Do Well List, which showcases law firms that are successful in achieving high levels of excellence in both diversity and business. The Firm recently won its ninth consecutive 100 percent rating on the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index, which measures LGBT workplace inclusion. White & Case in 2016 was named the most diverse law firm in the United States by Law360 and, for the third straight year, by The American Lawyer. The Firm also earned multiple Women in Business Law awards in the United States, Asia and Europe from Euromoney magazine in 2016.
