White & Case's Energy, Infrastructure, Project Finance and Asset Finance (EIPAF) practice has been awarded the coveted 'Airport Finance Law Firm of the Year 2011' title by Jane's Transport Finance Journal.
The award, presented to White & Case partner Antoine Cousin and associate Hamad Al Hoshan at a ceremony held in the heart of the City of London last night, recognised the team's "immense effort and skill" working within the transport finance industry.
The Firm's work advising International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation in connection with the US$ 1.5 billion expansion of Madinah airport, the first airport PPP in Saudi Arabia, was commended by the judges.
"We're proud to collect this award and to have played a lead role in the Madinah airport expansion project, part of the Kingdom's wider plans to increase capacity across the region" said partner Doug Peel. "This award recognises our market-leading, fully integrated team, which covered both the international and Saudi law aspects from the Firm’s Riyadh office."
