White & Case has been named The Legal 500 UK 2015 Firm of the Year in Finance by The Legal 500, a leading provider of legal guides. The Legal 500 conducted thousands of interviews with law firms, sets and in-house counsel in the United Kingdom to pinpoint the most capable, expert firms operating at the top of their game across a number of different areas.

A number of global law firms were shortlisted for this accolade, including four Magic Circle firms and an elite US firm, so we are very pleased to be recognized as the leading finance firm in such a competitive market.

Ukrainian Restructuring
Advising the government of Ukraine, the two largest state banks in Ukraine, the state railway and the city of Kyiv on the comprehensive restructuring of US$23 billion of debt in accordance with the terms of Ukraine’s IMF extended fund facility.

New World Resources Restructuring
We advised New World Resources group, the central European hard coal producer, on the €825 million restructuring of its balance sheet via a UK Scheme of Arrangement and a €118 million rights issue and €32 million private placing.

Bestway Group's £725 Million Acquisition of the Co-Op Pharmacy
We advised J.P. Morgan and Nomura, as global coordinators and bookrunners, on the £725 million all-senior loan financing for the Bestway Group’s acquisition of the Co-Op Pharmacy.

Sophos IPO on the London Stock Exchange
We advised a syndicate of banks including J.P. Morgan Securities plc and Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc, as joint global coordinators, and Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch and UBS Limited, as joint bookrunners, on the initial public offering and London Stock Exchange listing of Sophos Group plc. The offering, which was the largest-ever UK tech IPO, consisted of a private placement to institutional investors, including to qualified institutional buyers in the United States, and raised a total of £405 million, valuing the company at just over £1 billion. Sophos, which has been majority-owned by private equity firm Apax Partners since 2010, is a world leader in IT security and data protection.
